Restoration & Retouching

Do you have old family photos you would love to have restored to their original state? Maybe you need a head swap for that one child that only smiled once and refused to look at the camera? Or a snapshot that you love, but it has a busy and distracting background? We can take care of all of these things for you at f/32!

Due to the nature of the work, we cannot quote restorations over the phone. Turnaround time is typically 4-7 days.

Physical prints need to be scanned into a digital format–scanning is an additional cost, starting at $4/image and increases depending on the original size. Excessively large or delicate prints need to be carefully photographed and the cost is $50.

Simple restorations, like removing dust and scratches, start at $15. For more difficult restorations (heavy dirt, missing pieces, large tears through faces), the cost is up to $75. Most restorations will fall anywhere in between. We can also moderately improve the sharpness of an image.

After the restoration is complete, you may choose to have prints made, copied to a USB drive or delivered for download.

All restorations require a 50% deposit, due at the time of order.

Photo restorations have four levels of service:
Level 1 $30.00 Basic color correction, adjustments for contrast, saturation and/or exposure, dust removal, small blemishes and up to three small areas not affecting faces or hands. It also includes red-eye removal, teeth whitening and braces removal.
Level 2 $50.00 All level one enhancements, plus advanced color correction and up to five small areas not affecting faces or hands. It also includes correction for laser eyes on animals.
Level 3 $70.00 All level one and two enhancements, plus up to three areas affecting faces or hands, along with rips, tears, creases or damage outside critical areas.
Level 4 $100.00 All other improvements including more than three areas affecting faces or hands, wholesale background changes, addition of or subtraction of subjects from an image, black and white image colorization, missing portions of an image and other advanced techniques not listed here.
